Been thinkin.. I think these protesters in Ferguson dont really care about what happened to Mike Brown, rather they just care about who was involved, and they dont really want to admit it. 80 percent of homicide victims in the US are African Americans, mostly killed by other African Americans. None of these protesters seem to care when a black is killed by a black. But when a white guy kills a black man, everybody screams racism. These protesters dont seem to know that they are pushing more segregation into our society when, in fact, its really not about racism. It doesnt matter about skin color, people get killed by the police all the time. Even if it was a corrupt cop, protesting this much over one incident does not show that the majority of police in the US are prejudice (and are out to get the blacks). They are just doing their job, and looking out for the safety of themselves and others. There doesnt seem to be much racial tension towards blacks on the white side, but rather these protesters are bring the tension onto themselves, towards the whites. On a side note about government benefits, Benjamin Franklin once said I observed that when more public provisions were given to the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer. The average welfare recipient in Missouri receives $26,837 (after tax) in combined government benefits ($19,442 in Illinois) . This is much higher than working minimum wage job at 40 hours a week. I understand those who need it, but not the ones who abuse it.
