Been working in my yard today. It reminds me of what happens when we don’t seek God daily. Weeds seem to overpower the yard when you let it go, so quickly. You don’t see them at first, sometimes until they are so big, they are choking out something you wanted to keep. But getting some nasty looking weeds out of the way, finally got the weed wacker fixed (thank God). Found a plant in a corner of the yard that was under a table, didn’t even know it was hiding there. A vine had wrapped itself around it and was choking it. I had to work it out to keep from tearing up the whole thing. Like God trying to save us from things we get into when we get distracted with life. Then I saw another one that was so tangled up with a vine growing on the fence. Looked like it was dying, as I began to untangle it I saw where it needed to be pruned, as I began that process I noticed it had long thorns, some were as long as 1 inch. As I began to cut the dead branches, they began to curl up in a pile and when I looked at it, it reminded me of the crown of thorns they put on Jesus’ head and I could barely stand that thought. His crown had 6 inch thorns, forced into His head. Just these 1 inch thorns was enough to scratch and tear your skin. He loved us enough to bear it all and give us a way back to the Father. What a Glorious God we have! We deserved death and instead He wants to give us life!
