Before I lay it down: “I’m all about being a man…….” - TopicsExpress

Before I lay it down: “I’m all about being a man…….” Yesterday I made an observation on a young man sitting in his automobile while his female companion pumped gas into their vehicle. I caught a little flak and support on both sides of the issue. Some said that I should give the dude a break, not knowing what type of physical condition he might have been in; others said that they didn’t see anything wrong with it while a majority of women agreed with me about my opinion. It was an interesting status to read especially when you’ve had one or two sammitches. Still, I’m gonna stick by my guns on this one and say that he shoulda been pumping the gas. Period. I’m holding to that (and allowing exceptions) because my daddy raised men and not boys. Sure, I believe that our women should help us every now and then, but there are some things that men should do if they’re healthy and capable. I believe in women’s liberation as long as it doesn’t intrude on my manhood. I respect ALL women and I love intelligent ones most. There’s nothing more appealing to me (from a man’s point of view) than a nicely-shaped woman with a brain to boot and overwhelming confidence. My definition of nicely-shaped might differ from woman to woman, but I have my preferences, therefore, don’t hate, and try to stay focused on the point I’m trying to make. It’s good that we daddies have shown our daughters how to change flats. But, every father hopes that their daughters will never have to do that, especially if there are gentlemen around. I just don’t find it appealing to see any of the women in my family under a car changing oil. I don’t care if she went to school to become a master mechanic, real men frown upon things like that. I’m also of the mindset that all men should have a job and go to work every day. That doesn’t mean that the man has to be the majority bread-winner or make mo money than their wives all the time; it just means that two incomes are better than one. Especially, in today’s society. Women, stop making excuses for men who aren’t doing what men are supposed to do. Don’t do that. Some of y’all love taking care of fellers with yo hard earned money. Yes, I know and understand that brothers get down on their luck from time to time and we need the support of some “good” women. But that ish shouldn’t last a decade. Mothers, stop spoiling your sons by allowing them to live with you way past high school graduation. Next thing you know, that little bastard will be living with you till he’s 40. Kick they ass out! If they haven’t graduated college or found a job by age 20, you’re raising a wimp. Next thing you’ll know, he’ll be wearing lipstick and twerking. In closing, the majority of women I know want men who can handle their business. Even the most liberated of women get a little moist when they see a man who can. In the words of that great philosopher, Barry White: “I’ll take good care of you, that’s what a man supposed to do, and I’ll be there for you all the time”……….SHO I’m right. God bless and good night.
