Before I lay it down: “Live like you’re going to die”. - TopicsExpress

Before I lay it down: “Live like you’re going to die”. It’s a scary thought, isn’t it? We really don’t like to talk about it much, but we’re not going to be here forever. Each of us has a scheduled meeting with the Maker. Every day God is calling all sorts of people home. It doesnt matter who you are, one day we will all be gone. What are you doing until that time comes? I’m glad you asked…… You just gotta be the best YOU that you can be. No one knows what that is but you. Isn’t it funny how our lives are patterned after people who think they know what’s best for us? I mean, it takes us a while to finally realize that we are not the persons that fit into molds designed for others. The sooner you realize who you are, the sooner your life begins. It’s a trial-and-error sort of thang where we experiment with what we see in others and try to mimic whom they’ve become or what THEY expect of us to be. Consequently, we go through life stagnant; starting over many times trying to perfect who/what somebody else is. Don’t do that. There will be at time when you will come to grips with you are, one way or another. I hope that you haven’t used up too much of your life’s allotment. You seldom get a redo. It’s terrible to finally find yo’self when you’re in your 40s and 50s. You’ve wasted too much time. Each day I try to live life like I know when I’m going to die. Daily aches and pains often remind me that I’m alive and ticking but there are some signs that go unnoticed. That’s why you gotta be the best you can be. Just pretend that you know your expiration date; stay as fresh as you can as long as you can. How can you do that? I’ll give you some advice: Do what makes YOU happy and thank God daily for the strength to do it. Treat people right and love people hard. Fight for those who can’t fight for themselves and uphold justice. Top it off with a good dose of forgiveness. Remember that it took you a long time to get it right, therefore, be patient with others. Your time is not God’s time and your way is not HIS either. Get as much out of each moment as you can and love yo’self like none other. You’ll have a lot of you left over to share with others when you take care of yourself. On this Good Friday afternoon, Someone died that you/me/we might have life, and He said to live it ABUNDANTLY. Call His Name. Get ready, get set, ………GO! God bless and good night.
