Before adjourning last week to return home to our districts for meetings and constituent events, we in the House of Representatives debated and passed legislation to deal directly with the border crisis as well as legislation to halt the president’s unlawful actions that have led to the inhumane smuggling of children across our border. Meanwhile, the Democrat-led Senate adjourned without having passed anything. As reported, they did come back into session briefly today, but not to debate or pass a solution. Nope. Simply to make sure they blocked action on the solutions the House passed. This is the same Democrat majority in the Senate that has refused to take up numerous pieces of legislation passed by the House – solutions to expand American energy production, promote business investment and manufacturing, encourage economic growth and job creation and help families keep more money in their pockets to cover everyday expenses.
