Before and during the time of the coming of conquerors from Europe - TopicsExpress

Before and during the time of the coming of conquerors from Europe in the 16th century, there were large metropolises in the Amazon, which for years we have mistakenly called a jungle. Archeologists in the 20th century went searching for evidence of these metropolises based on their assumptions of what a city was supposed to be. This video explains that these metropolises did indeed exist, but were constructed according to the nature, topography and geography of the region, not according to old world approval of what might constitute a city. Some of these complex settlements were as populous as London or Toledo in their time, as they were described by the conquistadors. And as in North America, there were many of these metropolises and settlements with evidence of advanced agricultural techniques, fishing and roads for transportation and travel. The conquest of the New World sadly destroyed the native culture and affected this world...a culture based on living in natural harmony with the environment... in a disastrous manner. Interesting video. The only problem are the commercials/ads, but you have the option to skip them when they occasionally pop up.
