Before any of you get at all excited or even mildly consider these recent rumors of Arsenal agreeing a deal with Dortmund for Gundogan as true, SportWitness has broken down the source of these rumors and Ill summarize for you why this is complete bullshit: Recent genuine reports from Germany said Dortmund will not let themselves get into another Lewandowski situation and will therefore sell Gundogan in the summer if he wont renew his contract (currently it expires in June 2016.) Following these reports, John Cross of Daily Mirror said that Wenger is on alert following these reports of Gundogans potential availability, which shouldnt really be news as it is more common sense. After this was published, the idiots at Fichajes (Spanish outlet) published their own version of the story, in which they say According to a report by the British newspaper Daily Mirror, the Gunners have bid to gain the services of midfielder, which is in fact untrue. They either misunderstood John Cross report or just wanted views on their website. Then, The Metro released a transfer story quoting Fichajes made-up story, saying And now reports suggest a £15.6million offer has gone in, with Dortmund seriously considering accepting it. Finally, The Independent follow up The Metros bullshit with their own, saying The Gunners have also held a long-term interest in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. It was reported earlier this month that Arsene Wenger has seen to it that Arsenal have made contact with their German counterparts over a possible deal. Reports today now suggest thats been followed up with a bid of £15.6m, which lead to a whole flurry of news reports quoting The Independent. And that is why every Gundogan to Arsenal transfer story is bullshit
