Before anyone decides to blame the 1% exclusively for these issues... There is a technical reason why this is happening and the social and natural environment suffer from this paradigm immensely. Our monetary system is designed to allow golden toilet seats for a very few amount of people while the rest are left struggling with themselves and each other to pull enough debt out of an artificial pool to cover their own cost of living. Remember this the next time someone blames lower-class welfare babies, immigrants, or any subgroup of people for our economic issues. This increasing economic gap also causes a slue of social aberrations in behavior and public health. There are now alternative designs to our economic system that could solve these issues. I recommend looking into The Venus Project and The Zeitgeist Movement Global for an example of a possible holistic solution.
