Before coming to China I joined a group on FB called Sistas in Hong Kong. I would start a friendship with a woman named Yolanda who lives in Guangzhou. She would tell me everything I needed to know about living here...see how God takes care of His children? So yesterday my school took us to Ikea to shop and of course Im the only black person lol. When low and behold Yolanda saw me and came up to me! Our first face to face meeting played out like the pics below! lol everyone in the store stopped and stared at us, including my coworkers! They thought we knew each other for years, until I explained this was the first time we met in person. Its such a beautiful thing when there is a silent solidarity between black people. We dont have to know each other, but there is an unspoken code that that holds us responsible for one another as we are bonded through our beautiful shades of brown skin. Celie and Netties reunion became more real to me as of yesterday. The beautiful bonds of sisterhood that Im glad God sent my way. #meandyouusneverpartmakidada
