Before growth and transformation there must be destruction .. a falling away of old beliefs, comfortable habits, stale thoughts and stagnation. Like all change, this can be painful, so many mistakenly label this destruction as a loss or a liability. In Yogic / spiritual terms however, this ‘loss’ is peeling away the layers, the samskaras that obscure our body, mind and spirit. Just as the cloud of a cataract, once removed, reveals new sight, so to do we gain a new perspective when we embrace change and uncertainty. Epiphanies and life changes are not born of comfort, but of distress / de-stressing.
