Before his formal declaration to run for the office of president, Gen Mummamadu Buhari went to Rivers state to consult with Amechi and also solicit for support. What played out there was quite appauling as either Amechi was suffering from acute amnesia or that Buhari is aspiring to govern a state other that the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Amechi to Buhari that contrary to public opinion that he is a religious bigot, that coming close has enabled him realise that Buhari was free of such tag. Not only is Buhari an unrepentant religious bigot, he is also an acclaimed tribalist. Our constitution clearly specified the role of a Vice President and it is predicated on the whims and Caprice of the President apart from boundary issues. In 1983, the ambitious soldier GMB took the whole nation by surprise as he sacked a democratically elected government. Many pple at that time rejoiced as they saw the act as an end to the corrupt regime of Alhaji Shehu Shagari. Recall that Alex Ekwueme was Shagaris Vice. If Shagari was the president and the regime was corrupt, the coup should ordinarily target him and bring him to justice. Am still wondering why was he placed on house arrest at his cosy apartment in Ikoyi while his Vice was thrown into Kirirkiri maximum prison. This is an act of a man who has come to repair d damages of corruption. This is just to mention a few of his selective justice. Adekunle Ajasin was tried twice and acquitted of all charges. How come he did some time in detention? Ahmed Uba flew in oblivious of the fact that there has been a coup. He was arrested as he touched down detained for a while. How he disappeared from detention and reappeared overseas is still a mystery that only buhari can solve.
