Before salvation you were not able to keep the Ten Commandments. After receiving the Holy Spirit you are still UNable to keep the Ten Commandments! Christ in you does NOT empower you to keep the law. The beginning of relationship with Christ through faith is the end of keeping the law to become righteous (Rom.10:4). Certainly, because of Christ in you, you will walk righteously and live holy. But the approach is very different. You are no longer doing right to be right, Jesus already took all your unrighteousness and you became the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus as a gift. You were cleansed by the blood of the Lamb of God Whose death on the cross paid the wages for your past, present & future sins. You are holy. Your actions of holiness are a fruit of who you are in Christ. You are righteous. You are holy. You do not become holy by OBSERVING the stone tablet (Ten Commandments) or the laws of your church or your self imposed principles. You were born again Righteous and truly Holy when you believed in Jesus Christ who died for your sins and was raised for your justification (Rom.4:25) So as I park my luggage here in India ready to depart for Kenya tomorrow, I felt to plead with you my friend, let God roll away the stone (commandments) that you may discover relationship with the risen Christ. He died for our sins to reconcile us to God. But we are saved by His life. You can quit living for God today. You were crucified with Christ. You died with Him. He is now your life. Let Christ, Who is your life appear. But the first thing is this: let God roll away the stone. "For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, MUCH MORE, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life." (Rom.5:10)
