Before the earthquake there had been plans to purchase other premises in Kingston. On July 13, 1907, McLeod wrote to the Board of Directors stating his agreement with Alfred Rowley, who took over as Agent in Kingston in late 1902, to get a site on King Street as near to the Government property as possible. In December 1907, Rowley secured it for 10,000 pounds - a steep price, but a much-coveted property. Other expansions included new branch openings: Mandeville (1907), Port Maria and Savanna-la-Mar (1908), St. Ann’s Bay (1910), Black River (1911), and Spanish Town and Morant Bay (1916). #Scotiabank125
