Before the opening of Kevin Earl Taylors joint show with David Ellis, Spirit Animal, we took a few minutes to hear what the artist had to say about his current selection of animal themed paintings. Erica Overskei, gallery directer at Subliminal Projects asks where his inspiration comes from when choosing his subjects, which are often animals in a strange, arrested scene. David Ellis can also be heard in this interview asking Kevin about his upbringing in South Carolina. Kevin displayed one of his animations in the show for the first time. A clip of this animation is visible during the video. He explains his curiosities for film and music. Spirit Animal will be on view at Subliminal Projects from September 13 - October 11, 2014.
