Before we left Canada for our Africa trip, Isabel found a mention on Tumblr about this restaurant that was located on top of a rock on the ocean and you had to take a boat to get to it. She simply had to go there. therockrestaurantzanzibar/So while we had our lounging days at the end of the trip at the Melia, we took one more day for an outing and scheduled to eat lunch at this restaurant. Boy am I glad we did. One of the best 2 or 3 meals in the whole 28 day trip...this place was amazing. Fishermen bring their fresh catch to them every morning. The sun was shining, the weather warm, the staff friendly (run by a British/Italian fellow) and the Octopus was the best I had ever tasted.
