Before we were aware of Jenkyn Powells incredible talents as a glass artist we only knew him as a passionate flyfisher. That was over twenty years ago. Steve remembers the exchange they had when Jenkyn came to him back then and offered to do a stain glass piece of a brown trout to put in Western Rivers. Having not seen any of Jenkyns work, Steve didnt know what to expect. Needless to say when he walked in one day with the finished product Steve and his staff were simply blown away. Jenkyn left Utah for a while, and has recently returned. Were glad to have our old friend back. Just before Christmas he brought his latest work into the shop to be put on display; another brown trout. This stand alone piece took him 6 years to complete. These or any photos cant do this piece justice, it is so incredible. Were glad to have our old friend back and are incredibly fortunate to have some of his amazing works as permanent pieces in Western Rivers Flyfisher. Utah is fortunate to have this talented guy back in the state as well. We dont know if our rivers trout feel the same way, but we do know that Mr. Powell is stoked to be back in Utah and the west fishing and continuing his work as a glass artist extraordinaire.
