Before you buy a puppy, think about where it has come from. Puppy farming is on the increase and these people breed from dogs kept in horrible conditions with no thought for their welfare or health. The puppies are often taken away from mum too early and transported very long distances before they are sold on to the public. Please only buy a puppy from responsible breeder and always make sure you see mum with her puppies in the home environment. Another option is to adopt one of the hundreds of homeless puppies waiting for a new family in rehoming centres. Never buy puppies from pet shops or garden centres - responsible breeders will never sell their puppies in this way. You can help stop the suffering by signing the petition to ban puppy farming at thekennelclub.org.uk/our-resources/kennel-club-campaigns/puppy-farming/ and writing to your local MP.
