Begin Again is a wonderful little movie about a washed up record producer (Mark Ruffalo) who finds new meaning in his discovery of Keira Knightleys talent. The two develop a blossoming friendship in what marks one of Keira Knightleys finest performances to date. Ruffalo is also charismatic as the sly but loveable record producer. The story is beautiful, laden with rich character development and captivating musical numbers. The film has an authentic feel to it, and harkens back to the heyday of romantic comedies, ones that tell an actual story without resorting to crude and profane jokes. This movie is a magnificent tapestry of illustrious characters, beautiful imagery, and a naturally flowing narrative. Every character in the film serves a purpose, and the character dynamics are simply magnificent. Adam Levine even does serviceable acting in his motion picture debut. This movie is a lovely character study with fluid characters and a captivating, compelling premise. Definitely a great experience ------------------------------------ A-
