Beginner Yoga 101 Mon Date: 11/3/2014 From: 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm Specifically designed for new students, this workshop offers a warm, welcoming environment, where everyone else is new to yoga too. You’ll be given a brief background of yoga, taken through the foundational postures one at a time, and receive alignment fundamental cues, emphasizing what is most important in getting started in your practice. After pose demonstrations, you’ll have the opportunity to try it yourself while getting immediate feedback and adjustments to help you. Your questions are encouraged and serve to help others in the class gain a deeper understanding. Please Ask! Just a few points that will be covered in this workshop are: • What is Mind Body Balance Yoga? Why does it work? • A full explanation of breathing techniques that we use • How to link your breath and movement as we flow from one pose to the next • Step-by-step guidance on the foundational pose and how to make “modifications” or adjustments to fit your needs and abilities • Why do we practice in our bare feet • What is studio etiquette and why is there such a thing? Come prepared – arrive early (15 minutes), wear exercise clothes, avoid eating at least 1 hour before, bring layered clothing, bring an open mind that is prepared to learn, etc. Brand new clients attending this workshop will get a free week of yoga on us!
