Behind every determined person there is a story to tell. I dont want you to feel sorry for me. I was not so young when my mom was in Unitas hospital fighting for her life. I was called one day that she wants to see me and my brother urgently. We stopped doing what we were doing and were rushed to the hospital. I thought it will be her last day on earth. Today, she is still alive. I spent nights keeping my fingers crossed that she doesnt get another asthmatic attack as we were always at the hospital. You should know, she is a single parent. I remember when, this time the lights were on and we were watching her fighting for her breath while waiting for my uncle to rush her to the hospital. I grew up spoilt. I got everything I wanted. When I had an acne problem, I was taken to the best dermatologists and mom didnt mind paying even after the medical aid was exhausted because of her hospital stays and my operation. Things were Ok. I went to the best private college before university then she resigned from work cause of her attacks, she started her business then it fell, we went bankrupt, car sold, nothing! There was poverty. We had to adjust and adapt to the new lifestyle. No going to the mall like before, no changing phones, no expensive grocery. Then it was going to the clinic and not private hospitals, there were days when there was no electricity... I know poverty and dont want to go back. Things have turned...
