Behind the Scenes at Clash Day One: Programming Some of you - TopicsExpress

Behind the Scenes at Clash Day One: Programming Some of you may wonder How in the world do they come up with this or even How can someone know what to program that will benefit myself and everyone else at the gym. Clashs programming or WODs arent just dreamed up daily or even weekly. Some of you may be shocked to know, our programming is thought of months in advance as well as our Strength cycles. The mastermind behind Clash programming is Wade. Wade studied Strength and Conditioning and received a diploma from NPTI (National Personal Training Institute). Wade reads and researches varieties of programming to make sure Clash is getting the very best! Programming is NOT something they even discuss when future coaches or future box owners attend the CrossFit certification course. Wade reviews the scores each day and when he notices scores or reps dropping as a whole, this tells him where our members need work. He then may adjust some of the future programming. How many of you think the warm ups arent important? We all might not like to do the warm ups but Clashs warms ups are designed to prepare you for your Strength and metcon your about to do. So the next time you think about skipping the warm up, remember its only to help you! When it comes to Clashs metcons, typically these are high intensity which is key for good conditioning. If you pace the metcon correctly only the last 10-15% of it sucks which does two things, makes you better and makes you go to the bad place! It is human nature to think the harder or longer the workout the better. Anyone can make a hard workout, 1,000 Burpees for time! How horrible would that be to do??? Lets analyze what we would get better at by doing that. Strength- Absolutely not! Muscle Endurance- No! You wouldnt be able to build up the muscle you just broke down Anaerobic- No! The pace would be too slow Aerobic Capacity- Maybe a little until muscle fatigue sets in Mobility- Absolutely not! Your ankles, hamstrings, pecs and delts would be tightened up for days and would probably take weeks of stretching to return to normal! Mental Fortitude- Maybe yes or you would QUIT FOREVER! This is why Clash has specific programming using high intensity that WILL benefit everyone who comes through our door! Ms. Marsha couldnt have said it better!
