#BehindTheWeather #BTW: A warm-up may be coming, but likely not without a fight. The Climate Prediction Centers 6-10 day outlook shows that temperatures are expected to warm above average for much of the country. While there is a lot of orange on this map, I dont think the cold is going to totally give up. While we may climb out of the teens and 20s, I wouldnt expect very days above 40 degrees... and we may not get much out of the lower to middle 30s. Most of our long-range models are showing that as soon as we start to warm up, another reinforcing shot of colder air will push in. Also, each reinforcing shot of colder air could come in with snow showers. One example is the coming weekend warm-up. The latest GFS model now shows after a warmer day Saturday... another cold front brings colder air and even snow showers back into the state on Sunday. We then look to repeat that pattern Tuesday into Wednesday. As far as any big storm potential... Id keep an eye out between Jan 23rd and the 28th. :)
