Behold, now is the acceptable time; now is the day of salvation. - TopicsExpress

Behold, now is the acceptable time; now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2 Living in the present can be hard. Instead, we can live in the past, pining for the so-called good old days or rueing in the mistakes we made years ago. Or we live in the future, longing to be freed from our present trials or fearing what the future might hold. Lent is a good time to try to live in the present. Why? As the British writer C. S. Lewis said: The present is the only time in which any duty can be done or any grace received. Practice living in the now this Lent. How? When chopping an onion for the casserole, chop the onion. Focus on the activity you are doing. When attending a meeting, attend the meeting. When talking with someone, give that person your full attention. When praying, pray. Salvation comes in every now of our life. String together enough nows well-lived, and you have a well-live life! GOD OF ALL TIME, HELP ME TO VALUE THE PRESENT MOMENT AND TO BE OPEN TO THE GRACE OF EVERY NOW. - Sr. Melannie Svoboda, S.N.D.
