Being a Computer Science major its things like the story Minecraft is inspiring. This one guy decided to make a game and now, now it is one of the most amazing and profitable things to exist. So if Notch can do it, why cant someone like me do it? I mean right now my programming skills are sub par, but someday I could do something amazing. This is something that is played by millions, and is even used to teach things. I have a mod that implements ideas behind Quantum Physics if that gives you any idea. Reading this article it is kind of funny to think how we all make a big deal about graphics then one person says heres some blocks have fun. I keep saying one person because Markus Perrson created it but it wouldnt be same without all the official people working on it and the people of the internet. I mean regular people end up making amazing stuff, such as mods, recreating maps, and some people even make replicas of games such as A Link to the Past. For the 1.6 update they added horses and asked a modder for help with it. You dont really see other companies reaching out for help to make things better they sort of just do what they want and try not to anger everyone. Sometimes they fail. Like Apple. Annnyyywayyy. I do hope that someday I can accomplish something like this.
