Being a football fan first and foremost; one of the reasons among many I was pulling for the Seahawks is because of the culture that surrounded their program. Positive and they believed in themselves. Russell Wilson is a third round draft pick but obviously talented. Players at this level develop with top notch coaching; something that started with Pete Carroll. Their defense is young but plays like seasoned vets and better yet they play old school.....in laymens terms they knock your jock off when they get the chance. That gets into peoples heads........... The 2014 NFL season officially started when the clock hit all zeros in NY/NJ last night. I hope the Texans learned something by watching Seattles defense. Defense wins championships. Its a fact that six times in the history of the Super Bowl teams that got there had the #1 rated defense. Of those six times, five times those teams dominated and won in convincing fashion. My point.......you lock up the other side of the defensive line with Jedavian Clowney along with Watt and youve got the foundation for a promising and dominating defense. As much as I like Cushing; hes damaged goods now and theyre paying him way to much money to have knee surgeries every year. Same with mediocre Arian Foster. While Im on the Texans, I know little about Bill OBrien (sp?), but I hope hes here to not make friends with the QB and the coaches but to build a legitimate contender in the NFL and hold people accountable for their jobs. Something Kubiak did not nor does not have the ability to do. Its all about winning baby......nothing else. With that....stay away from Manziel next season with the first pick. Just because hes an Aggie means NOTHING in the NFL. End of story the Seahawks made anointed god Peyton Manning look like a high schooler last night. The Broncos mirrored the Houston Texans whole season in the game that counted the most and a few years from now its gonna be remembered for a defensive performance, by Super Bowl standards, that may the best ever. Again........congratulations to the Seattle Seahawks. Superb and dominating effort!!!!!!!
