Being a good parent is hard, but treating and loving your kids fairly is even harder it seems. Occasionally, my oldest chitlin will tell me that Im much nicer to my little ones or that I like them more. She may be right but they are still little and cute😁😎. So this post is strictly just for her. 16 years old, 3/20/1994, 5:00 pm, 7lbs 11oz 20.5, red n black flannel n jeans. Sunny and clear blue skies. What is that, you ask? My age, your birthdate, time, weight and length. What I was wearing and the weather outside. FYI - yours is the only one I remember! Its not to say I didnt care about your brother or sisters as much or anything like that - something about the first thing or time... On that day I cut your umbilical cord separating you from the one person in this world who should never have stopped loving you but in the end it was me who didnt and wont. I was tough on you - probably more than I should have been and I will continue to do so because thats our thing. I am easier on them but its only because you taught me to be a little more forgiving and nurturing to people because not everyone can handle me and how I am. I may not always be the best dad that I can be, and you may not be my favorite or even 2nd favorite child😉, but I can honestly say without a doubt that you were, are and always will be my first true love! I LOVE YOU Little Miss Ashley Schofield! So there😝...
