Being a self-employed artist is - most days - a HUGE challenge, to put it mildly. I have had many doubtful periods, especially this year. But, I will tell you with all honesty, that today, as I was painting all day... {bonus: outdoors on this spectacular warm October day in one of the most beautiful cities on Earth} I felt like it is all worth it. I truly love to paint and man, am I doing it now. Week 5 into this current mural project, painting nearly 7 days a week, and I come home covered in a layer of sweat and filth and paint, sleepy and sore, with a huge smile on my face because I am so godddamm happy to be!!! And even if people didnt stop me periodically to say that they are inspired, and that they enjoy looking at my painting (or ask silly questions! lol), it would STILL be exhilarating. I honestly hope there is something in YOUR life that makes you feel this way.
