Being a successful hitter is all about being ON TIME! I like to use cones as a visual for my students. First I place them all out in front of the plate...you must let the ball get deep ! Go through a bucket or until they start to be consistent on their timing and then remove the cones. See how well they have adjusted and if they can determine depth without the cones. A lot of my hitters like the cones even once they have got it down, just as a reminder. Want to take it one step further? Put the cones at an angle where point of contact should be made for inside middle and out pitches. Same rules apply...
