Being able to go on Saturday and try something experimental on the podcasting level that, to my knowledge, has never happened before is an enthralling, yet frustrating, opportunity. For some, this is just another idea. For me, this is everything. People don’t understand the visions I’ve had for TheJonHarder. The original idea of using my website to expose other performers and their similar passions has turned into a platform where I unleash MY passions. The same feeling that was had around the original conception of #HardwayHQ has turned into MY network. It’s completely frustrating to open up my bases for others to succeed and have NO ONE latch on and try something different out of their comfort zone. Now, I look at the impending PLAY BY PLAY series I’m starting with on the #HardwayHQ Podcasting Network and I legitimately have apprehension on this idea. The very real fear of exposing this vision and either no ears are on it, someone bigger steals the idea and gets more notoriety for it, and just the overall knowledge that the idea bombs out lives in my psyche. The full knowledge that my Facebook and Twitter followers primarily do NOT check out the majority of my projects weighs heavily on my mind. The major frustration: bringing in new listeners, who have ZERO clue on who you are, to check out an experimental project. That is indeed the BIGGEST test of the PLAY BY PLAY series. September 20, 2014 is the 3rd chapter of my personal “Professional Revolution”. Do-It-Yourself culture can truthfully take people only SO far. It’s time to hope on a wing and a prayer. This is EVERYTHING to me.
