Being back home for Thanksgiving was bittersweet. While I was - TopicsExpress

Being back home for Thanksgiving was bittersweet. While I was lucky enough to spend an unforgettable week in California, and an awesome weekend spending time with my family and catching up with old friends, I was also hit with a tough realization. This was the first Thanksgiving in years that I didnt get to throw back a few beers with Ryan and the boys, after all my family festivities were over. My mom would always bicker, Who the hell does something on Thanksgiving night?! Me and Candice, thats who. It will be a difficult Christmas break this year as well, there is no doubt about that. But I know for certain that it will be the first Christmas of my life where I take a step back and truly appreciate all that I have, and all those that I have in my life. For those of you who knew Ry, I challenge you this holiday season to tell your favorite Ryan stories, share your favorite pictures with him, hell, even give a couple toasts in his honor before you pour another shot of fireball down your throat. Keep his memory alive and most importantly keep his family in your thoughts and prayers... because while it may have been hard on me to not have Deech around this Thanksgiving.. my whole heart goes out to them: They are the ones who so obviously feel his absence this year.
