Being cancer free is a wonderful testimony to my Lord, the power - TopicsExpress

Being cancer free is a wonderful testimony to my Lord, the power of prayer, and a great doctor and procedure. As I mentioned in a testimony this morning. I was diagnosed with deep tissue squamous cell infusion cancer on the anniversary of my wife going to be with the Lord. I love the Book of Hebrews-to me the theme is Christ is greater than.......Christ is greater than cancer. During Jeanettes treatment-coma-and going home to be with the Lord, I learned a lot about myself and the need I had for the Body of Christ. I asked for prayer back then and I asked for prayer again walking through this time in my life. I discovered that it is easy to say, I am doing fine when people asked or just give a general pray for me but it was really hard (because of being vulnerable-pride) to let people into my life and actually explain-what was happening. I also discovered that it is hard to pray or minister to people when you know something is wrong but they continually say, I am fine. The Word commands us to pray for one another-to cast our cares upon Him-.... I can put on the pastors mask and quote scripture-say pastors prayers-be very private and stoic and actually miss the mark. Today, pastor quoted a scripture that I read and re-read in the Book of Romans about striving together while I walked in these two cancer incidents. In the 1st century church-the people came together-shared their lives with each other, broke bread, and built relationships around the Word and each other. I discovered another unique scripture of the men tearing off the roof to lower the man on the pallet to Jesus. There were times in both situations, I leaned on others faith. I so appreciated the people who anticipated the need I was going to have or was having and just took care of the need. I appreciated the conversation in my office with a person that just said, we are bringing a couple of meals to you What I am really trying to say-is I am thankful we serve a living God, who is greater than anything we face in our lives-but I am also glad to serve with a people who will tear off a roof and do what is needed for my benefit. Love you all.
