Being contrarian is just in my nature, and even my boyfriend disagrees with me on this, but this is why Mackelmore won at the Grammys. As much stock as the award has lost (at least in my mind), the message that comes from Same Love is so powerful and generational that it was impossible to ignore for musics highest honor. This performance alone was the pinnacle of what that anthem has been able to evoke. It was simply a beautiful performance and message, and seeing 33 couples wed on live television brought tears to my eyes. Take a few minutes out of your day and watch it.
