Being in business is hard, but being a thirty-year-old female in business is so much harder in this country. When youre a young entrepreneur here, its always assumed that you have your familys backing. Be female and its double whammy. People shrug and think you have a rich husband or boyfriend financing your operations. I was born in a country where glass ceilings are bad and double standards are even worse. If anything, its only made me more driven, more stubborn, more relentless. I am not going to apologize for having an amazingly supportive, entrepreneurial family. They are not supporting me, theyre investing on a sure thing. As for a man? I dont see anyone, besides my father, grandfather, and brothers, I can look up to and look to for advice, so why burden myself with an unwanted relationship? Im here for one thing, smoke competition- and to quote a client that happens to be the biggest translation company in the world, theres no competition, because youre the best. That and prove a lot of motherfu**ers wrong.
