Being landlocked is not a bonus for a country. As someone who wrote a book once said, If youre coastal, you serve the world. If youre landlocked, you serve your neighbors. The poorest countries are over-represented by landlockedness… Uzbekistan is doubly landlocked. It is surrounded only by countries that are landlocked. This is rare. By rare I mean Uzbekistan is the only country worth mentioning that is doubly landlocked. There is one other, but it isnt worth mentioning. Its cheating to be a fifth the size of New York City and call yourself a country.
