Being on this train reminds me that you can be anyone you want to be if youre in the mood to switch things up. Honey is an excellent prankster if he can keep from laughing so I could have him play into the fun on this trip and we could do a 1-2 Kung POW Punch if hell keep a straight face. One time when I was about 23, I sat next to a puff-paint sweatshirt wearing mall walker with a tight perm on a flight from Houston to Tampa. When she asked me what I did for a living I figured Id get a little thrill and say that I was a back up dancer for Paula Abdul. I told her wed been in Japan and Paula was nursing a knee injury but that we were tight and I had been checking on her. She really ate it up, kept asking me questions and I underestimated how deep Id be spinning an entirely different identity for 2 hours. She wanted me to pose for a picture with her grand kids when we go to Tampa so I did. My mother was so pissed that Id turned into a grifter but I said it was an unselfish act because the lady had a much better time on the flight had I said I was an English major at UH and was on the swim team. Straight up.
