Being present: I would like to take a moment to get present and distinguish how not present I almost allowed myself to be this weekend. As most of my friends know my group threw a fundraiser this weekend to help out a friend in need. As most of you know already it was a total success. After finding out that we were only $300 from our goal when we thought we were not even halfway there was a beautiful feeling on Saturday morning. We stared mother nature down in the face to the very last moment in order to host this fundraiser as there was a tropical depression that constantly threatened our ability to host it. We had old friends privately messaging people on our guest list and telling them that we were running a Ponzi scheme. I had about 10 people bail on me last minute that were supposed to help. So in the middle of this fundraiser I found myself trapped in my own head complaining about all the people that let me down or never showed up to support. This racquet of bullshit was in my head for almost an hour and a half. And then it hit me like a ton of feathers. I was not taking the time to notice all the people that did come out to support, that made this thing happen. People like Justin Wiedermann and Nikita Litersky who stayed in one spot the whole night. Never partying just volunteering their time to make this thing run smooth. All of my friends and people in my life that came out one by one to make that happen. I got present really quick to all of you. Like Josh Boyer who donated every dime he made selling his delicious pork sandwiches. To all my friends and friends of friends that came out to support this cause, I just want you to know that after my hour and a half of complaining, I took the moments which was the rest of the night to get present to every single one of you who came out and showed your support. I stood in the middle of Makers Square and looked at every single one of you and noticed every single one of your faces and I want you to know that I acknowledge and appreciate everyone. I love you Michelle!
