Being sold in the May 17th, 2014 Antique Clock Auction. French Bronze Figural Mantle Clock. Gilt bronze case depicts 2 putti seated on the top with a nest of baby birds at their feet, a dove in the lower left beside a bird cage and the center figure holds a dove up in his left hand; has a fancy swirling filigree decorated base with painted porcelain inserts on either side of the 3.5 in. porcelain dial. Typical round brass spring driven 8 day movement has an half hour bell strike and is signed “Japy Freres” & “Rollin A’ Paris”. In good condition, running, striking and has an overall clean gilt finish; sm. chip on the dial around the strike arbor hole. 13 in. high x 13 in. wide x 4 in. deep.
