Belchertown Animal Control Heads up anyone living in the vicinity of Hardwick, MA there is a male in his early 20s with a reddish brown mustache wearing a black ball cap about 59 and 160 lbs driving an older grey/silver van with no windows who attempted to pass himself off as an Animal Control Officer and steal someones pet dog. Apparently he told the dog owner that he had received a complaint on the dog and had to remove it from their property. He had a leash and muzzle in his hands. The back of his van contained dog cages. If you know or hear of anything similar please contact the Hardwick Police at 508-867-1170. By law there are procedures and/or hearing(s) that must be done prior to an animal being removed from your property.
