Beliefs Man is overly passionate for his beliefs and woefully - TopicsExpress

Beliefs Man is overly passionate for his beliefs and woefully dispassionate for that which supports him. The disassembly of each belief redirects one back to the question of “What holds the belief?” In a world where so much is uncertain, your beliefs are what help you hold everything together. For example, if I were to take away your believed-in surety that you’d wake up the following morning, would you willingly go to sleep the night before? To believe that you can establish and maintain security in an everchanging world through manipulation and control is delusion. In the absence of such an actor, there is only response and reaction. To believe that there is a thinker thinking is delusion. All there is is reception. To believe that you know the way things ought to be is delusion. In the absence of this belief, there is acceptance. To believe that there is an entity “inside” is a delusion. All there is are processes functioning. Breathing is a function; there is no breather. In the same way, teaching is a function; there is no teacher. Realization is the antithesis of belief. Everything is simplified. There is Subjectivity, the essence of all forms, their destroyer and their occupier, to which all phenomena come and there is the body/mind/self through which all phenomena come. Roy Melvyn
