Believe it or not, I DO NOT like fundraising, but this is about building a predominantly black college in the Roanoke Valley. From Keith Orlando Hilton to every person in this group: I need your help. I started my first publication in 2005. Today my organization has seven publications. A true story; during my second year (2006), I asked an African-American superintendent of schools if he would be a patron for one of my publications ($250) or at least subscribe to it. His negative reply was, “I want to see if you make it first before I decide to support you.” This was from a man making over $200,000 a year! We are our own worst enemies too often. Ironically, I had positively featured him more than once in the publication. Today I know that everyone reading this is not earning $200,000 a year, but I am asking you to just give $10 in November and another $10 in January to the HHEW Colleges Project. Just $10 + $10.
