Believers and followers of Jesus Christ, you were made for a - TopicsExpress

Believers and followers of Jesus Christ, you were made for a purpose, designed specifically for a task or multiple tasks. Many of us think it is our career and that can be a part of it, but your career is not the full scope of your purpose. You have been designed to display the glory of the Lord throughout the Earth. His power is displayed through us wherever we are. Lets talk about the throughout the Earth thing. We all have a mission field. Some are assigned to Africa, South America, India, etc. The needs of these people are great - lack of health care, lack of clean drinking water, lack of food, lack of shelter, and an abundance of religious oppression! It is obvious that people of God need to be in these places doing Gods work. Then there are those that are assigned to the Wednesday night PTA meeting in middle class America. There are hurt and lost people everywhere. Yes, even that beautiful woman with the 4 carat diamond ring, big house in the suburbs, with the perfect family portrait hanging over the fireplace needs to see Jesus. She is suffering and she is captive. She puts up her perfect front to mask and cover the fact that the American dream she has worked so hard to attain has left her empty and hopeless. Some are assigned to the bad neighborhoods where crime is high, the schools are suffering, and no one wants to even drive through much less live there. These people are captive too. Poverty, broken homes, fatherless children, single moms (God bless them. It is hard raising children alone.) - they need to see Jesus. Others are assigned to schools where rebellion and lawlessness reign. (Yes, even in elementary schools.) A place where God was kicked out, yet no one can figure out why there has been a decline in education ever since they removed prayer from schools. Schools are no longer considered safe. They are in a perpetual state of lockdown for fear of a violent attacker. Some are assigned to board rooms, dorm rooms, hospitals, food establishments, prisons, you name the place and I guarantee there is a believer or believers assigned there. So before you bemoan where you live or what your career is or is not, know that while you are where you are at, you have a higher calling - to shine and let the glory of the Lord abound in that place. Live a holy life. Be a living testimony of the power of God. Cover that place and the people in that place with prayer. If they come to you for direction or advice, let the Lord speak through you. Know that God will use you right where you are if you are willing. So if it is your job to clean toilets, do it with a glad heart, praising God as you do it, and shine. He has a purpose and a plan for you in that place. When you get to the other side, He will say, well done my good and faithful servant, as He places a beautiful bejeweled crown upon your head. Selah.
