Belize was better this morning and the diarrhea has stopped, but this evening she clotted her second juglar vein, so she is probably in a hypercoagulable situation. This means she is still toxic, even though she isnt colicking any more. She is at extremely high risk for founder, and for clotting off the foals placenta. The baby is doing OK for now and we are still trying to ride it out-- a C-section now would kill the mare for sure, but if she starts down we will section for the foal. There is little chance of saving it, but it will die for sure if still in the mare and she dies. Prayers please for her and her poor unborn foal. She is such a gentle, kind mare. She was one of the Saddlebreds that went to Japan to pull the carriages for the Olympics years ago, and is always friendly and easy to catch-- tries to do what you ask-- She certainly doesnt deserve this!
