Bellavita Tile achieves ISO certification TIANJIN, CHINA -- Bellavita Tile, a leader in design and innovation for the North American tile industry, has always had a strong commitment both to environmental stewardship and consistently offering quality material. A good example took place in January of 2014, when the firm put that commitment to the test with third-party certifying body Lloyds Register Quality Assurance, obtaining ISO 9001 & 14001 certification for its wall tile factory in Tianjin, China. These two standards covering quality and environmental management processes, respectively, certify that Bellavita Tile continues to be a sector leader not only relative to providing innovative material, but also in implementing production methods and procurement practices. These two operating standards involve putting measureable processes in place to ensure quality control, employee health and welfare, and environmental management systems which are not only upheld today, but continually improved upon. By constantly raising the bar on acceptable best-practices, we live up to our company mission statement of continually striving to find a better way, said Duigan Mitchell, President of Bellavita. Our macro goal to simply make great products has never been enough; we are always looking for ways to improve our methods of getting there on a granular scale. Employing best-of-breed machinery and practices from the European sector -- such as Sacmi presses, automatic sorting and boxing, Spanish glazes and inks, as well as factory day lighting and dust-abatement practices -- have made the Tianjin facility a beacon to follow for the entire Chinese ceramic sector. These certifications are only the first step in efforts to increase third-party certifications and quality assurance measures, setting the stage for Bellavita Tile to build upon for 2014 and beyond.
