Beloved and Faithful Friends, Thank you for surrounding us with your love, prayers and practical support! We have known the graciousness of God through you. To recap, Joey had a massive heart attack last Friday afternoon, (10/10) drove himself two places, before being put in an ambulance and taken to St. John’s in Oxnard, was defibrillated over 12 times, (the cardiologist said it was the second most dramatic case of his career), was on life support for four days, and is now miraculously in recovery. We understand that only 3% survive. Death has lost it’s victory and the Lamb has prevailed. For those of you who have asked how to love Joey as he transitions out of CCU and returns home in the next few days, here is a list of a few possible ideas: Pick one, or be creative! - Pray for strength to return to Joey, and for grace for us all for all the transitions ahead. We know you’re already doing this. We can feel it. - Record a video with a message for Joey and post it on his Facebook page. Once he is strong enough we will start showing him these video messages, so he can see your faces and hear you. - Write cards and letters to him and mail them to 540 West Highland Drive, Camarillo, Ca. 93010. We will need some adjusting time before we can have actual physical visits from friends. We will be monitoring his strength level and we want you to come as soon as it is wise for Joey. If it were up to him he’d have you all at once, but we’ve seen first hand the toll it takes on him so we’re going slow. - Bring meals if cooking is your love language, but Joey is eating like a bird at the moment. Email [email protected] and she’ll explain how to schedule things online. Trader Joe gift cards would be great as well. - Write Joey directly on Facebook your messages and he will be able to see them once he is strong enough. - Sign up to help Fawn as she cares for Joey once he is home. He is quite weak and we’ll need many and varied kinds of help. No offer of help will be denied. (Fawn will need grace, as asking for help is not her strength). - Visit! Once Joey is home and more rested and recovered Trisha again will be the go-to person for signing up visitation hours. Please watch for that and sign up to come. Joey loves people and seeing you will be part of his healing. We will just need to carefully monitor his strength. We as a family are very aware this is going to be a long journey that we simply cannot do alone. We are so thankful and humbled by your willingness to help us and carry us through this valley with tender love! Thank you! Aura Parish
