Beloved, if you have just read the preface to this chapter, you have partial insight into God’s love for mankind. The extreme sacrifice of His Son was the ultimate payment for sin. Salvation is offered to you as a gift, containing - the Holy Spirit. You cannot purchase it, work for it, or claim it as your birth right. No … you must receive it as a little child, and hide it away in your heart, forever. This gift allows you to live your life bound together with God, in constant awareness of His presence. His gift cannot be stolen or lost and you alone may choose to ignore, forget, hide it away, or deny it. If you purpose to live a lifestyle of sin, you terminate your union with the gift and communication with God ceases to exist. The gift lies dormant inside you and continues calling you to repentance. At life’s end, on your death bed, will you call out for God to save you? Or has repeated rejections of His Son turned your heart to stone and seared your conscience so deep that you no longer hear the voice calling. If your ears cannot hear, you cannot respond, thus the contents of the gift cannot be aroused! (1Timothy 4:1-2)
