Below I have posted the proposed language of the 28th Amendment of our Constitution that just passed a Senate subcommittee. This is essential for you and me to get behind. It reads: To advance democratic self-government and political equality, and to protect the integrity of government and the electoral process, Congress and the States may regulate and set reasonable limits on the raising and spending of money by candidates and others to influence elections. Congress and the States shall have power to implement and enforce this article by appropriate legislation, and may distinguish between natural persons and corporations or other artificial entities created by law, including by prohibiting such entities from spending money to influence elections. Nothing in this article shall be construed to grant Congress or the States the power to abridge the freedom of the press. This just passed the Senates Constitution, Civil Rights, and Human Rights Subcommittee, and moves next to the Judiciary Committee July 10th, and hopefully the full Senate after. I encourage you to contact your two Senators in your state and express your support for this amendment to preserve our democracy and help America move back towards the ideal of We the People that was so instrumental in the founding of our Republic. When you call or email, you can simply reference the proposed 28th Amendment.
