Born in Lenggong but educated at SM King Edward VII Taiping - Awarded Panglima Gagah Berani (PGB). 2..Dato Seri Yuen Yet Leng - born in Taiping educated at SM King Edward VII Taiping - a well known police officer respected for his deep knowledge on COIN 3..Major Abdullah Babu - born in Taiping educated at SM King Edward VII Taiping - fought in WW2 and awareded the MBE by the British Government. 4..Lt Kol (B) Ismail Ghows - born in Taiping educated at SM King Edward VII Taiping - rose up from rank and file reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel - awarded the PGB. 5..RSM (B) Ielias Ibrahim - born in Batu Kurau now pensioned and residing in Pulau Pinang - awarded the PGB. 6..Renjer Mat Risau Hassan - born in Selama kiiled in action - awarded the PGB 7..Lt Kol (B) Robert Rizal Abdullah - born in Sarawak now residing in Taiping - awarded the PGB.? 8..Major (U) Nur Sulaiman - educated at SM King Edward VII Taiping - awarded the Air Bravery Medal by RMAF - now residing in Jitra Kedah (family members still in Taiping) These are a few names that fought for the independence of Malaysia during World War 2 and The Emergency, Confrontation and The 2nd Insurgency.
