Below is a one page description I wrote for the University of Vermont Senior Engineering Project. If enough seniors sign up for this, next fall I will be working with a team to begin creating the technological outgrowth of Sound Balancing: Therapeutic Biofield Sonography “It has been discovered that all tissues and organs produce specific magnetic pulsations, which have come to be known as biomagnetic fields. For various reasons, mapping the magnetic fields in the space around the body often provides a more accurate indication of physiology and pathology than traditional electrical measurements.” (Oschman, 2000) Eileen McKusick MA, author of the upcoming book “Tuning the Human Biofield”, is an independent researcher from Johnson, Vermont who has been studying the effects of the acoustic frequencies produced by tuning forks on the human body and its biofield since 1996. She has developed a therapeutic method that uses the forks to detect and correct tonal imbalances in the frequency field, or biofield, up to six feet around the body. [Contrary to the popular belief that the magnetism of the body terminates a few millimeters off the skin, the magnetic field of the body has been detected up to 12 feet off the body by the SQUID magnetometer]. This method, called Sound Balancing, is similar to sonar, or ultrasound: the sound waves bounce off the body and the field, and return with information that is subtly but discernably represented in the overtones of the tuning forks. A pulled muscle, for example, sounds very different than a healthy muscle. A relaxed adrenal sounds very different from a highly stressed one. Initially the tuning forks resonate with the dissonance present, but after a short time, the coherent frequency of the tuning fork entrains the sounds of the body into more coherent rhythms. In doing so, it supports the body in resolving the problem on its own. This process follows the physics concepts of resonance and entrainment. Sound balancing has – anecdotally – shown itself to be extremely helpful in treating a broad range of symptoms, including: anxiety, pain, PTSD, depression, digestive disorders, adrenal fatigue and failure, over-emotionalism, vertigo, concussion, migraines, TMJ and more. It is an extremely efficient intervention, often resolving issues after only several sessions. Eileen would like to investigate how to convert the changes in the auditory signal of the tuning forks as they pass through the biofield into a visual image on a computer screen – a kind of real time imaging system of the activity in the diffuse magnetic field of the body. This would, potentially, provide an unprecedented rendering of the energetic terrain around the body, while at the same time testing Eileen’s “biofield anatomy” hypothesis: that the biofield is a stratified, compartmentalized, timelined structure holds the record of our experiences; and that sound modulation of the information contained in this structure can produce consistent and replicable relief from a wide variety of symptoms. “Informational medicine, that changes disturbed information available in the biofield, is going to be the future of medicine” Lynne McTaggart in the movie, “The Living Matrix”
