Below is information on a grant program currently looking for applications. A new round of applications has now opened for the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Co-op Development Program. Applications must be sent to Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada by February 20th 2015. The amounts that can be granted vary between $5,000 and $50,000. This program is designed to stimulate a start-up or an expansion of co-operative projects in First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities. Activities that would qualify for funding include (but not limit to) a pre-feasibility study, a feasibility study, a business plan as well as pre-start-up structuring activities such as exploration of innovative models or consultations between the community. We encourage Provincial Associations and sectoral federations to present projects jointly with Aboriginal organization partners.
