If you would like to receive it via email send me an email at george@price4council and we will put you on our mailing list. I hope you enjoy it and please provide any comments on what you would like to see in future issues. Also, check out the name the newsletter contest. District 3 Newsletter September 1, 2014 GEORGE PRICE, CITY COUNCILMAN PROUDLY REPRESENTING THE CONSTITUENTS OF DISTRICT 3 Councilman George Price Newsletter September 2014 Welcome to my inaugural newsletter. My goal is to keep the constituents of District 3 informed of upcoming events, important agenda items, Council actions and other items of interest. The as of yet to be named newsletter will be provided bi-monthly with special editions as needed. Please feel free to contact me with any suggestions you may have. COFFEE WITH YOUR CONCILMAN This is something that I plan to do on a quarterly basis to allow constituents to meet with me in an informal setting to share their concerns, comments and opinions on items that affect our community. I am pleased to announce that the first meeting will be held on Saturday, September 20th from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Vanguard Art Gallery in the Stoneridge Towne Center. Thank you to Rick Archer for offering his location for the meeting. Stop by for a cup of coffee and conversation. COUNCIL UPDATE Although I have been on the Council for a little over three months several important decisions have been made by your City Council Here is a brief rundown. • The Council voted unanimously to drop the appeal of the lawsuit the City had filed against the March Joint Powers Authority. The City had lost the case in court and the former Council voted to appeal the case which had already cost over $100,000 in legal fees. This was one of my top priorities and I am glad my colleagues agreed. Now the March Lifecare Project can move forward. • The much anticipated ProLogis project was continued at the behest of the proponents to the October 14th Council meeting. Mark your calendar and attend the meeting to express your opinion. This is a proposed 1. 6 million square foot Logistics facility situated next to the Auto Mall fronting highway 60. • District 4 representative Xystian Gutierrez exhausted all his appeals and by court order was removed from the Council. At the August 26th Council meeting it was decided to leave the seat vacant until the November 4 elections. • In my short time in office, I have had the opportunity to meet with our state representatives (Senator Roth and Assemblyman Medina) as well as our Congressional Representative (Congressman Mark Takano) in an effort to begin dialogue which will hopefully lead to a cooperative working relationship on matters affecting Moreno Valley.
